> Hyundai IONIQ 5 Ultimate – the Ultimate adds a Bose sound system, larger 20-inch wheels and electronically-adjustable seats

Hyundai IONIQ 5 history
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 has been out since 2021, so is well-bedded-into the electric car landscape by now.
> Hyundai IONIQ 5 first generation (2021-2023)
> Hyundai IONIQ 5 first generation facelift (2024-present)
What features does the Hyundai IONIQ 5 have?
Being one of the smartest cars on the road, the IONIQ 5 is filled with the latest and greatest tech, making sure you’re never bored in this South Korean SUV.
Its stand-out feature has to be the wing mirror cameras that replace the glass mirrors most other cars have. They link up with screens inside the doors for high-tech visibility. Not only is this futuristic, it’s more streamlined and gets rid of another obstruction from the driver’s seat.
Another is its vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that lets you power devices such as a toaster or lawnmower directly from the car’s charge port, if that’s your thing.
Is the Hyundai IONIQ 5 reliable?
There are two reasons why the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is more reliable than many cars.
Firstly, because it’s a Hyundai, and they have a track record of making some of the most dependable cars on the planet.
Secondly, is because it’s an electric car. This means there are fewer moving parts than in a traditional combustion engine so, in theory, less can go wrong.
When it was tested by Euro NCAP in 2021, the IONIQ 5 scored a full five stars, thanks to its strong range of safety features.
How much does the Hyundai IONIQ 5 cost to run?
This is going to vary on the model you have and how you use it. If you use your car more often and charge at public fast chargers, you’ll end up paying far more than if you charge at home.
On average, a home wall box charger will set you back around 8p/kWh, whereas a public fast charger could cost as much as 80p/kWh.
Who is the Hyundai IONIQ 5 suitable for?
You should consider buying a used Hyundai IONIQ 5 if you’re someone who loves the idea of an electric car and appreciates futuristic design – plus lovers of Back to the Future.
It's spacious, has an impressive electric range and looks the part. Thinking about that Tesla? This could be a better option for you.
