What is the Ford Fiesta ST-Line?

The Fiesta ST-Line is a sporty variant of the popular Fiesta hatchback, which caters to buyers who want a sportier driving experience without the higher running costs of an ST.

ST is the name given to Ford’s popular hot hatches, so ST-Line models are designed to look very similar, but they come with much more economical engines including the popular EcoBoost petrol units.

ST-Line was introduced on facelifted sixth-generation models in around 2016 and was later made available on seventh-generation models built from 2017.

There are several variants, including higher-spec Fiesta ST-Line X and newer Fiesta ST-Line/X Edition models.

What are the Ford Fiesta ST-Line specs?

Despite its sporty looks, the Ford Fiesta ST-Line comes with many of Ford’s most economical engines, including the highly praised 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Power outputs vary and include 100hp, 125hp and 140hp.

Low CO2 emissions keep these in some of the cheapest car tax brackets, and they also sit in lower insurance groups compared to the more powerful 200hp ST.

The addition of mild hybrid technology in newer models promises greater fuel economy and a slight boost in performance, too.

Used Ford Fiesta ST-Line features and equipment

Given that there are a few variants of the Fiesta ST-Line available, standard equipment varies, but they all share ST-themed badges in and around the cabin to remind you that this is no ordinary Ford Fiesta.

Expect large alloy wheels, slightly stiffer suspension, a distinctive exhaust pipe and a boot spoiler.

Equipment on the Fiesta ST-Line includes parking sensors, keyless start, cruise control and Ford’s excellent SYNC 3 infotainment system.

Range-topping Fiesta ST-Line Vignale cars get a reversing camera, keyless entry, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and more.

Where the Fiesta ST-Line sits in the Ford range

Ford has added and removed trim levels over the years, but you’ll usually find a mix of entry-level Style, Zetec and Trend models, plus some well-equipped Titanium and Titanium X cars.

A few Active variants were also available, with a raised ride height and plastic bumpers giving them a crossover look, as well as these popular Fiesta ST-Line models.

When new, ST-Line variants cost about the same as Titanium-spec trims, and they’re even more affordable used.

They’re also several thousand pounds cheaper than the range-topping ST hot hatch.
