What is the Ford Edge Titanium?

Although a Ford Edge is already a high-quality model in the brand’s lineup, the Titanium trim adds a few extra bits of kit and an overall sense of better value for money.

Titanium is generally considered to be a high-spec option in other Ford models, but because the Edge was Ford’s biggest SUV when it was on sale between 2016 and 2019, it was actually the standard pick.

That doesn’t make it any less attractive – it just means that any version of the Edge you decide to buy, including the well-equipped Titanium model, will be a good pick.

What are the Ford Edge Titanium specs?

In the car’s later years, there were only two engine options available, and both were 2.0-litre diesels paired with eight-speed automatic gearboxes.

The front-wheel-drive model came with 150hp, but the 4x4 version had 238hp and a lot more torque (500 Nm vs. 370 Nm), making it a good pick for anyone who needs a heavy-duty tow car.

Earlier on, a few other power outputs were available, including 210hp and 180hp, but they all use a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Used Ford Edge Titanium features and equipment

Standard kit varies by model year, but as a guide, most older examples come with all-around parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers, keyless start, a powered boot lid, a reversing camera and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Other equipment includes dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, a heated windscreen, adaptive cruise control and front seats that are both heated and cooled. It’s worth scouting out a newer model just for those.

Newer Ford Edge Titanium cars also get an upgraded Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, which adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Where the Edge Titanium sits in the Ford range

For a while, Ford sold an entry-level Zetec model that came with more than just your standard levels of kit, but this was dropped in favour of more premium variants.

Titanium became the entry-level option, with an even plusher Vignale trim available with enough equipment to rival some seriously posh brands.

Sport models come with similar specifications but a slightly sportier look and firmer suspension. They were replaced by popular ST-Line variants.
