What is the Ford C-Max Zetec?

The Ford C-Max is a mid-size people carrier based on the popular Focus hatchback, which means it’s roomy and comfortable.

A C-Max Zetec is the entry-level model – it’s a no-frills approach to family motoring with an emphasis on affordability, but Ford didn’t cut corners and you’ll get all the essentials.

Ford stopped selling the C-Max in 2019, so used C-Max Zetec cars have had time to become even more affordable.

What are the Ford C-Max Zetec specs?

Two generations of the C-Max were available, and even in the case of the second-generation model, launched in 2011, a few updates changed what was on offer.

As a guide, newer models were available with a 120hp 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is a great pick for anybody travelling long distances.

Town drivers may prefer the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which is one of the best small engines around. There are 100hp and 125hp configurations of this, plus a more powerful 150hp 1.5-litre petrol too.

Used Ford C-Max Zetec features and equipment

Despite being an entry-level model, the C-Max Zetec still gets alloy wheels, air-conditioning and a heated windscreen which makes defrosting the car so much easier in winter.

Standard kit varies by model year, and there were some optional extras on offer worth keeping your eye out for, like rear parking sensors, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

The C-Max Zetec also comes with a button-operated infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, but the eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that came as standard on higher trim levels was available as an optional upgrade.

Where the C-Max Zetec sits in the Ford range

Zetec was the most affordable level in the C-Max range, which in the car’s later years sat beneath Titanium and Titanium X.

There are no other trim levels available for the second-generation C-Max, but a few optional packs did offer some more equipment.
