Fiat is considered a reliable manufacturer, and the Tipo models are no different. You can expect a solid run, as it’s highly rated for its reliability across the board. The Tipo also does well on customer reviews, with its drivers reporting minimal issues and being satisfied with the car.  

This model was awarded a three-star safety rating from Euro NCAP on its last test, but the model has been updated since then.  

The latest Tipo models get some extra safety features like lane control, intelligent speed assist and traffic sign recognition, and there are additional safety packs available for some models.  

What are the Fiat Tipo features?

The features of your Tipo will depend on the model you choose, as these will vary across the range.  

The latest models are the most impressively kitted-out, and get some exciting new features that really add an extra modern feel. You can expect extras like attention assist, adaptive cruise control, an active grille shutter to optimise aerodynamics, adaptive high beam, and rear cross path detection for guidance when reversing.

What is the Fiat Tipo like to drive?

There are also a fair few options when it comes to driving the Tipo, including an all-new hybrid model with a 130hp 1.5-litre engine that pairs well with the electric motor.  

You can also choose from a variety of petrol and diesel offerings. There are some efficient diesel options in 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre form, with the 1.3-litre being the entry-level model that offers a baseline 95hp.  

The larger diesel engine puts out 120hp, so it's slightly perkier but still efficient. Both are perfectly suitable for everyday life, and can help keep fuel costs lower with a claimed 76mpg for both models.  

The petrol engines are the best ones to pick if you fancy a drive that’s slightly more fun. You’ve got a choice between the 1.4-litre petrol model in both 95hp, or a turbocharged 120hp.  

All of the engine options are easy to drive and feel smooth on the road, but the petrol models are slightly less fuel efficient and prioritise higher levels of performance.
