What is the BMW iX3 M Sport Pro?

Trim level options for the iX3 are limited, because all variants are high-spec editions, but the iX3 M Sport Pro is a step above the rest.

It’s almost as if BMW ticked most of the optional extra boxes for you, because it comes with more standard equipment than many other electric SUVs.

Despite the futuristic electric setup, the iX3 in any form is still a very familiar car because it’s based on the popular X3 model, which is available with petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid setups.

What are the BMW iX3 M Sport Pro specs?

There’s only one motor configuration available for the iX3, and it’s a single-motor setup with power going to the rear wheels.

It’s a 286hp motor, which gives this reasonably heavy car a respectable 0-62mph time of 6.8 seconds.

The 80kWh battery has a usable capacity of 74.3kWh, which gives a theoretical range of around 280 miles. Its charging stats are fairly average, so you can benefit from 11kW AC and 150kW DC (rapid) charging.

Although there has only been one generation of the iX3, BMW facelifted the car shortly after it went on sale, tweaking the equipment levels.

As a guide, newer models come with an improved infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Other equipment includes adaptive LED headlights, keyless entry, cruise control, all-around parking sensors, a heads-up display, a built-in dashcam and a reversing camera.

Where the iX3 M Sport Pro sits in the BMW range

Although BMW has a growing range of i-branded electric models, and the i3 came first, the iX3 was one of the brand’s first mainstream electric models and its first electric SUV.

It has only ever been sold in M Sport trim, though a Premier Edition model was sold for a short while when it first went on sale. Pro variants of both have been available.
