What is the Audi Q2 Sport?

Sport is a mid-spec trim level for any Audi, including the Q2, and it represents the point in the range where performance, style and equipment levels all come together into a good-value package.

Because it’s been available since the car launched in late 2016, you should have no problem finding a used Audi Q2 Sport for sale.

Despite the name, this a model that comes with Audi’s excellent range of petrol and diesel engines, which are both punchy and economical.

What are the Audi Q2 Sport specs?

In recent years, buyers have stopped buying so many diesel cars, so if you’re looking at a newer Audi Q2 Sport, then there are only two petrol options: the 110hp 1.0-litre 30 TFSI and the 150hp 1.5-litre 35 TFSI.

If you prefer diesel power, then there’s a 116hp 1.6-litre engine available. For a short period between around 2021 and 2022, Audi sold this as a 2.0-litre unit, but it produced the same amount of power.

Older models also came with a 150hp 1.4-litre petrol engine in place of the newer 1.5-litre unit, but there’s not a lot of difference in terms of how they are to drive.

Used Audi Q2 Sport features and equipment

Audi has updated the Q2 a number of times to keep it looking and feeling fresh, so equipment levels vary from year to year.

Newer models come with LED headlights, a powered boot lid, air-conditioning, rear parking sensors and cruise control.

They also get a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Where the Q2 Sport sits in the Audi range

Sport is generally considered to be a mid-spec model, and while this is true for many Q2 cars, Audi recently removed its basic models, meaning that this well-equipped model is now the entry point.

Previously, entry-level SE and Technik cars were available, but they don’t feel as premium as the Audi Q2 Sport.

Sporty-looking S line models sit above Sport, with more aggressive Black Edition models sitting at the top of the range. For a period, plush Vorsprung models were also available.
