Chery TIGGO 7 vs. JAECOO 7: Styling

A comparison of the TIGGO 7 and JAECOO 7 style

The J7 is a premium, rugged-styled SUV with an upscale feel. The massive grille at the front is eye catching and menacing, and the overall shape is very Range Rover-esque.

The Chery is still a luxurious-looking car, with a slightly softer look than the JAECOO's harsh lines.

It looks more like BMW, Mercedes and Audi SUVs, so would suit a driver who’s apprehensive about switching from the ‘Big Three’ to something fresher.

Both models come in two different trims that decide which tech and features are on offer. The TIGGO 7 comes in Aspire and Summit trims, while the JAECOO 7 offers Deluxe and Luxury.

The TIGGO 7 has a dual-screen setup, with both being 12.3 inches, and every trim gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Opting for the top-spec Summit trim also gets you a 540-degree parking camera and heated and cooled front seats.

The J7 is pretty level on tech, though opting for the top-spec Luxury model will get you a 14.8-inch screen that looks absolutely massive.

You’ll get the same smartphone integration as the Chery model, plus panoramic sunroofs across all trims.

A comparison of the TIGGO 7 and JAECOO 7 practicality

It’s undeniable that both SUVs will give you space and practicality. The TIGGO 7 takes the prize with a 485 to 565-litre boot (depending on the model), though the JAECOO 7 isn’t far behind with 410 to 500 litres.

This can be extended to 1,423 litres and 1,396 litres, respectively, if you fold the rear seats.

There's plenty of space throughout both cabins, but the TIGGO does feel roomier so would be ideal if you have taller passengers regularly.

So, while both SUVs are spacious with big boots, the JAECOO 7 gets the edge on boot space while the TIGGO 7 is better for cabin space.

Chery TIGGO 7 vs. JAECOO 7: Safety and reliability

The Chery TIGGO 7 scored a four-star Euro NCAP safety rating, losing a star because the knee-protection airbag didn’t deploy in the initial crash test, but it earned a full five-star rating in 2025.

Both brands also include a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first), so don’t their relative newness put you off. They clearly have faith that their cars will go the distance.
