What are the Ford Mustang GT specs?

There’s only one engine option for the Ford Mustang GT, and it’s a supersized 5.0-litre V8. The latest models produce 450hp, but some slightly older second-hand cars produce 422hp.

You can pick a manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic which takes the effort out of cruising around – they sell in nearly equal measures, so the pick is yours.

Lesser versions of the Mustang – not the GT – were also available with the same 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine as you’d find in a Focus ST. Power outputs vary, but many come with 290hp.

Being a performance model, the used Mustang GT has separate front and rear suspensions, a limited-slip differential and an upgraded brake system.

Newer models come with LED headlights, large 19-inch alloys, quad exhaust pipes and rear parking sensors.
