What is the BMW X4 Sport?

The BMW X4 is a coupé-like model based on the regular X3 family SUV, and you get similar levels of interior and boot space, making it a viable option.

Sport trim level is a mid-spec version, so you get more than just the basics without having to pay for a more expensive top-spec or performance edition.

BMW only sold the Sport trim level for a short period, because the M Sport option is far more popular, but it’s also more expensive.

What are the BMW X4 Sport specs?

Engine choice is really simple, and unless you want a performance model (which won’t be finished in Sport trim), you’ll be buying a diesel car.

The 190hp 2.0-litre diesel is a great pick. We really like it because it’s surprisingly economical but still packs a punch.

If you prefer something with even more pace, there’s a 265hp 3.0-litre engine, but you’ll notice a slight dip in MPG figures.

Used BMW X4 Sport features and equipment

A used BMW X4 Sport for sale comes with everything you’ll ever need, including cruise control, three-zone climate control, interior ambient lighting, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, a powered boot lid and heated front seats.

There’s also an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that works with Apple CarPlay, and some seriously bright LED headlights.

Watch out for cars with some optional extras, such as adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, keyless entry and a heated steering wheel.

Where the X4 Sport sits in the BMW range

The SE is generally considered to be the entry-level BMW option, but you can’t buy an X4 SE, so Sport is the most affordable option.

Many buyers choose a desirable M Sport car for its more aggressive styling, and there’s also a higher-spec M Sport X version of the X4.

Depending on the model year, there are also 3.0-litre performance models, including the X40i and X40d cars, plus an all-out X4 M.
