Tyre Insurance

1.   Demands and Needs Summary

Tyre Insurance contributes to the cost of replacing or repairing the tyre(s) fitted to your vehicle that have sustained either accidental or malicious damage. Simply follow our claims process and we will assess your claim. Once approved we will provide payment up to your claims limit.

If the tyre(s) on the vehicle you’re looking to purchase suffered accidental or malicious damage would this Tyre Insurance, that can contribute towards the cost of a replacement or repair, be of interest to you?

2.   Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age at the time you purchased this policy.

Your vehicle is 10 years or under and has covered less than 100,000 miles at the start date of the policy.

Your Tyre(s) carries an ‘E’ Mark.

You’re a resident in the UK or Channel Islands or you are a partnership, company or other legal entity registered in United Kingdom or Channel Islands(for example if you own a business with company vehicles).

You have paid the premium including applicable taxes.

Your Tyres have more than 1.6mm in Tread depth in a continuous band around the full width of the Tyre 

Your Vehicle is not an excluded Vehicle (see below) and does not exceed 3,500kg in weight.

You purchased and took delivery of your vehicle no longer than 30 days ago.

Please note Tyre Insurance excludes the following vehicles in all circumstances:

Commercial or light commercial vehicles, delivery vehicles, panel vans, motorcycles, scooters, three wheeled vehicles, kit-cars, quad bikes, caravans or motor homes, trailers, boats, left-hand drive vehicles, grey imports, vehicles used for hire or reward (for example taxis, self-drive hire or driving schools, delivery courier), vehicles capable of carrying more than 8 passengers or a vehicle used in any sort of rally, speed testing, 4x4 off-roading, racing or any kind of competition or trial and your vehicle must not be insured on any type of motor trade insurance policy or for class 3 business use.

3.   Price and Term Information

Price as shown in product offer email. Term 36 months.

All insurance prices must be referred to as ‘premium’ not recommend retail price (RRP).

*All prices include insurance premium tax.

4.   Benefits Of Cover

We will cover the cost of the repair up to £50 including VAT or replacement of your tyre(s) up to the policy limits as a result of damage.

Up to 15 replacement tyres during the policy period.

Puncture repairs are unlimited and are not included in your total claims limit. 

No excess to pay when claiming.

Cover starts from day 1 with no waiting period.

5.   What is insured?

  • We will contribute to the repair or replacement of your vehicle tyre(s) due to accidental or malicious damage.

  • If your tyre(s) can be repaired, we will contribute a maximum of £50 including VAT towards the cost of repair. Puncture repairs are unlimited and not included in your claim limit.

  • If your tyre(s) requires replacement, you can receive up to 15 replacements during the policy period and we will pay up to the maximum benefit shown on your schedule including VAT towards the cost of replacement.

  • Damage means:

    • the sudden and unforeseen deflation of a tyre(s) arising from accidental damage to the tyre(s) itself; or

    • malicious damage to the tyre(s) or valve from a third party.

 

6.   What is not insured?

  • Tyre(s) if they have less than 1.6mm of tread in a continuous band around the full width of the tyre(s).

  • Wear and tear of your tyre(s).

  • Theft of the tyre(s).

  • Tyre(s) which are not ‘E’ marked and any claim where there has been an attempt to remove the serial number or other identifying marks from the tyre(s).

  • Damage caused by improper use of your vehicle.

  • Damage caused by incorrect tyre pressure, wheel alignment, tyre imbalance, defective steering or suspension.

  • The damage is pre-existing damage or an imperfection listed on the vehicle imperfections page on the cinch website;

  • Damage resulting from faulty manufacture or design of your tyre(s).

  • Where you have your tyre(s) covered under any other insurance policy, warranty or guarantee.

  • Damage caused by a road traffic accident or where your vehicle is a total write-off.

  • Any damage that the administrator believes has occurred due to you not reporting the claim within 30 days of the Incident

How to Claim

As soon as you become aware of an incident that has resulted in damage which you believe could lead to a claim you must contact the Administrator, TWG Services Limited (see “About the Insurer” section for details). You must report your claim within 30 days of the incident. 

Register your claim online via the Vehicle Care App and selecting “get repair help” or our website: yourvehiclecare.co.uk/repair-bookings. 

Alternatively, you can call 0333 220 662 to register your claim (Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm). 

 We will need you to complete a claim form and submit photos of the damage, please use a ruler or something to show the size of the damage in the photos.

Where we authorise a contribution towards a repair or replacement tyre(s), you can go to a VAT registered garage/tyre retailer of your choice and you must pay for the repair in the first instance and send us a copy of the relevant invoice and proof of payment.

Cancellation

You have the right to cancel at any time.

If you cancel within 30 days of the start date on the policy schedule or receipt of these terms and conditions from the administrator (whichever is later) and have not made a successful claim on your policy, you will be entitled to a full refund of any premium you have paid.

If you cancel after 30 days of the start date on the policy schedule or receipt of the terms and conditions from the administrator (whichever is later) and have not made a successful claim on your policy, you will be entitled to a pro rata refund, based on the number of full unexpired months remaining on your policy.

Please note you will not receive a refund where you have already made a successful claim on the policy.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

London General Insurance Company Limited is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if they cannot meet their obligations. General insurance contracts are covered for 90% of the entire claim, without any upper limit.
