SEAT Ibiza models explained

Explore the full SEAT Ibiza model lineup, including trim levels and specs

SEAT Ibiza models UK – a full breakdown

Consider the SEAT Ibiza the sporty cousin to the VW Polo, Škoda Fabia and Audi A1 – similar where it maters (mechanically), but suitably Spanish when it comes to style.

In this guide we’ll explore fifth-generation SEAT Ibiza models, sold from 2017 onward, including the updated model introduced in early 2026.

We’ll compare SEAT Ibiza trim levels, SEAT Ibiza engines, and more to help you pick the right version of this supermini.

SEAT Ibiza model lineup

The SEAT Ibiza is a pretty simple supermini to understand – a sensible selection of trim levels are available to add increasingly more features as you step up through the range.

SEAT Ibiza SE (2017-2026)

SEAT Ibiza SE 2025

This entry-level model has 15-inch alloys, an 8.25-inch touchscreen, an eight-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, LED headlights and rear parking sensors.

SEAT Ibiza SE (2026-present)

SEAT Ibiza SE 2026

Newer base spec with larger 16-inch alloy wheels and everything else you get on the earlier SE, including wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

SEAT Ibiza SE Technology (2017-2026)

This upgrade gets you a few improvements, but the best is the bigger 9.2-inch touchscreen.

SEAT Ibiza SE Technology (2026-present)

SEAT Ibiza SE Technology 2026

A tech-focused update, as the name suggests, which also brings keyless entry.

SEAT Ibiza FR (2017-2026)

SEAT Ibiza FR 2025

Mid-spec trim with dual-zone climate control and selectable drive modes.

SEAT Ibiza FR Sport (2017-2026)

Some styling and material upgrades, including bigger 18-inch alloys and tinted windows.

SEAT Ibiza Black Edition (2017-2026)

SEAT Ibiza FR Black Edition 2025

More than just a colour palette change, this adds heated sports front seats, a panoramic sunroof and keyless entry.

SEAT Ibiza FR First Edition (2026-present)

SEAT Ibiza FR First Edition 2026

A sportier-looking trim with bigger alloys, sportier front seats, front parking sensors, a reversing camera, dual-zone climate control and slightly firmer suspension.

SEAT Ibiza FR Sport (2026-present)

This top-spec car gets the biggest alloys, tinted windows, a different headlight design and a bigger 10-inch digital instrument cluster.

SEAT Ibiza XCELLENCE (2017-2026)

SEAT Ibiza XCELLENCE 2025

This is similar to FR and FR Sport in terms of equipment, but it does away with the sportier styling. Perfect if you just want some affordable luxury.

SEAT Ibiza XCELLENCE Lux (2017-2026)

SEAT Ibiza XCELLENCE Lux 2025

Top-spec version with adaptive cruise control, front parking sensors and reversing camera.

SEAT Ibiza powertrain options

SEAT Ibiza enginePetrol

Engine choice for the Ibiza is pretty limited compared with other superminis – you can only get 1.0-litre petrols.

The 95hp model comes with a five-speed manual, or the 115hp version available on higher trims gets either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic.

It’s the same across pre- and post-facelift models.

You used to get non-turbocharged 75hp versions, or quicker 150hp 1.5-litre petrols, but these were cut after a few years to simplify options.

The 75hp engine later got upgraded to an 80hp engine, and today’s 115hp model used to have 110hp.

Diesel

There was also a 95hp 1.6-litre diesel for a short period, but this went as the industry started to remove diesel from smaller cars.

You may be able to find a used one, but they aren’t that common.

What’s the best SEAT Ibiza model?

Budget-friendly option – SE models have plenty to offer with touchscreens and rear parking sensors, but SE Technology is a good upgrade for not much money

Luxurious trim – older XCELLENCE models were the best Ibiza options, but FR First Edition is great if you’re buying newer

Performance variant – there's no hot hatch version, like the Polo GTI, so we suggest pairing a sporty FR-branded trim with the 115hp petrol

Efficient version – your best bet is one of the 1.0-litre petrols, because they’re widely available and cheap to run
