How much does the Volvo V60 cost to run?

The 2.0L diesel is the most economical Volvo V60 to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency.

The Volvo V60 2.0L diesel costs £20.00 a year to tax, as it sits in tax band B. In fact this is the lowest CO2 output of any model in the Small Executive segment at the time of writing. Good job, Volvo.

It does just over 74 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

This is the best fuel economy in class, and better than the next three cars: BMW 1 Series, Jaguar XE, Audi A4

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 18, which is lower than the Audi A4 2.0L diesel, but higher than the BMW 1 Series 2.0L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Audi A4 has the lowest insurance group.)

Volvo V60: How big is the boot?

The Volvo V60 has an above average boot space (564 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This would allow one pushchair and 3 large bags. Alternatively you could load up with 4 large bags or 4 cabin bags instead.

The Volvo V60 estate is the best in class, and better than its closest rival Volkswagen CC.

Is the Volvo V60 easy to park?

Given a typical supermarket space, the V60 is hard to park. (If you want the detail it will fill just over three quarters of the bay). This is the widest car in the Small Executive class, and you may need to breathe in a bit when getting in and out.

If you don’t park in the street that much, then the V60 is fine. It will go in to an average street slot, giving you a gap of 160mm to swing in and out. But if you street park a lot you may want to look at the BMW 1 Series.

Which Volvo V60 has the best performance?

The fastest Volvo V60 from 0-60, is the 2.0L petrol (if you’re a petrol head, it has 470 lbs/ft torque and 367 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the Mercedes Benz C Class 3.0L petrol, which will beat your Volvo V60 to 60 by 0.1 seconds. That’s a big gap in Formula 1, but not something you would notice in your commute to work.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Volvo V60 tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Volvo V60 2.0L diesel which has 400 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 2000kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
