How much does the Skoda Superb cost to run?

The 1.6L diesel is the most economical Skoda Superb to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency. Compared to the competition in the Large Family segment, it’s one of the best you can choose.

The Skoda Superb 1.6L diesel is free to tax, as it sits in tax band A.

It does just over 76 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the Dacia Logan 1.5L diesel and the more thirsty Peugeot 508 1.5L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 13, which is lower than the Hyundai I40 1.7L diesel, but higher than the Toyota Avensis 1.6L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Dacia Logan has the lowest insurance group.)

Skoda Superb: How big is the boot?

The Skoda Superb estate has a bigger boot than the hatchback (it can hold 644 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This allows the estate to take one pushchair and 4 large bags or 5 large bags. While the hatchback takes just 5 large bags.

The Skoda Superb estate is the best in class, and better than its closest rival Volkswagen Passat.

Is the Skoda Superb easy to park?

This car is actually 46mm longer than the average street space, so parallel parking will never be easy.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Skoda Superb tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Skoda Superb 2.0L diesel which has 400 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 2200kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
