How much does the Renault Kadjar cost to run?

The 1.5L diesel is the most economical Renault Kadjar to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency.

The Renault Kadjar 1.5L diesel is free to tax, as it sits in tax band A.

It does just over 74 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the Citroen C4 Cactus 1.6L diesel and the more thirsty Dacia Sandero Stepway 1.5L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 14, which is lower than the Dacia Duster 1.5L diesel, but higher than the Mazda CX-3 1.5L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Citroen C3 Aircross has the lowest insurance group.)

Renault Kadjar: How big is the boot?

The Renault Kadjar has an above average boot space (647 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This would allow one pushchair and 4 large bags. Alternatively you could load up with 5 large bags or 5 cabin bags instead.

The Renault Kadjar hatchback is the best in class, and better than its closest rival Peugeot 3008.

Is the Renault Kadjar easy to park?

This is one of the widest cars in the class, which makes it feel like a bit of a squeeze in the multi-stories. If that stresses you a bit, try the much narrower Citroen C4 Cactus.

When it comes to parking on the street, the Kadjar is one of the hardest. It has a turning circle of 11m, and a length of 4449m, giving you a relatively small 351mm gap to turn the car in and out.

If you don’t have a drive, you should look at the best in class for parallel parking instead, the Hyundai IX20.

Which Renault Kadjar has the best performance?

The fastest Renault Kadjar from 0-60, is the 1.6L petrol (if you’re a petrol head, it has 240 lbs/ft torque and 163 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 9.2 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the Fiat 500X 1.3L petrol, which will beat your Renault Kadjar to 60 by 0.1 seconds. That’s a big gap in Formula 1, but not something you would notice in your commute to work.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Renault Kadjar tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Renault Kadjar 1.6L diesel which has 320 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 1800kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
