How much does the Kia Ceed cost to run?

The 1.6L diesel is the most economical Kia Ceed to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency.

The Kia Ceed 1.6L diesel is free to tax, as it sits in tax band A.

It does not far off 79 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the Peugeot 308 1.6L diesel and the more thirsty Hyundai I30 1.6L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 11, which is lower than the Citroen C4 1.6L diesel, but higher than the Ford Focus 1.6L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Honda Civic has the lowest insurance group.)

Kia Ceed: How big is the boot?

The Kia Ceed estate has a bigger boot than the hatchback (it can hold 532 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This allows the estate to take one pushchair and 3 large bags or 4 large bags. While the hatchback takes just 3 large bags.

Worth knowing, the Peugeot 308 estate is the best in class, allowing for one pushchair and 5 large bags with its 810 litres.

Is the Kia Ceed easy to park?

The Kia Ceed is very middle of the road - it fills three quarters of a space. There are lots of wider cars, but just as many that are narrower and feel easier to park. For example, the Skoda Rapid.

If you don’t park in the street that much, then the Ceed is fine. It will go in to an average street slot, giving you a gap of 445mm to swing in and out. But if you street park a lot you may want to look at the Suzuki Baleno.

Which Kia Ceed has the best performance?

The fastest Kia Ceed from 0-60, is the 1.6L petrol (if you’re a petrol head, it has 265 lbs/ft torque and 201 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the Audi A3 1.8L petrol, which will beat your Kia Ceed to 60 by 0.1 seconds. That’s a big gap in Formula 1, but not something you would notice in your commute to work.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Kia Ceed tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Kia Ceed 2.0L diesel which has 305 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 1500kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
