How much does the Jaguar XF cost to run?

The 2.0L diesel is the most economical Jaguar XF to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency. Compared to the competition in the Large Executive segment, it will make the smallest dent in your wallet.

The Jaguar XF 2.0L diesel costs £20.00 a year to tax, as it sits in tax band B.

It does not far off 71 MPG on average, which means it will cost £9.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the BMW 5 Series 2.0L diesel and the more thirsty BMW 5 Series 2.0L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 25, which is lower than the Audi A6 2.0L diesel, but higher than the Volvo V70 2.0L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Volvo V70 has the lowest insurance group.)

Jaguar XF: How big is the boot?

The Jaguar XF estate has a bigger boot than the saloon (it can hold 556 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This allows the estate to take one pushchair and 3 large bags or 4 large bags. While the saloon takes just 4 large bags.

Worth knowing, the Volvo V70 estate is the best in class, allowing for one pushchair and 5 large bags with its 815 litres.

Is the Jaguar XF easy to park?

The Jaguar XF is very middle of the road - it fills just over three quarters of a space. There are lots of wider cars, but just as many that are narrower and feel easier to park. For example, the Mercedes Benz E Class.

This car is actually 158mm longer than the average street space, so parallel parking will never be easy.

Which Jaguar XF has the best performance?

The fastest Jaguar XF from 0-60, is the 5L petrol (if you’re a petrol head, it has 680 lbs/ft torque and 550 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the BMW 5 Series 4.4L petrol, which is slower by 0.2 seconds.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Jaguar XF tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Jaguar XF 5L petrol which has 625 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 1850kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
