How much does the Dacia Sandero cost to run?

The 1.5L diesel is the most economical Dacia Sandero to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency.

The Dacia Sandero 1.5L diesel is free to tax, as it sits in tax band A.

It does almost 81 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the Peugeot 208 1.6L diesel and the more thirsty Skoda Fabia 1.4L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 8, which is lower than the Citroen C3 1.4L diesel, but higher than the Ford Fiesta 1.4L diesel. (If insurance cost is important to you then the Ford KA+ has the lowest insurance group.)

Dacia Sandero: How big is the boot?

The Dacia Sandero has an above average boot space (320 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This would allow one pushchair and one large bag. Alternatively you could load up with 2 large bags or 2 cabin bags instead.

Worth knowing, the Skoda Fabia estate is the best in class, allowing for one pushchair and 3 large bags with its 515 litres.

Is the Dacia Sandero easy to park?

This is one of the widest cars in the class, which makes it feel like a bit of a squeeze in the multi-stories. If that stresses you a bit, try the much narrower Hyundai I10.

When it comes to parking on the street, the Sandero is one of the hardest. It has a turning circle of 11m, and a length of 4062m, giving you a relatively small 738mm gap to turn the car in and out.

If you don’t have a drive, you should look at the best in class for parallel parking instead, the Smart Forfour.

Which Dacia Sandero has the best performance?

The fastest Dacia Sandero from 0-60, is the 0.9L petrol (if you’re a petrol head, it has 135 lbs/ft torque and 90 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 11.1 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the Kia Rio 1.4L petrol, which will beat your Dacia Sandero to 60 by 0.1 seconds. That’s a big gap in Formula 1, but not something you would notice in your commute to work.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Dacia Sandero tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Dacia Sandero 1.5L diesel which has 220 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 1100kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
