How much does the Audi A4 cost to run?

The 2.0L diesel is the most economical Audi A4 to run, taking into account insurance, tax and fuel efficiency.

The Audi A4 2.0L diesel is free to tax, as it sits in tax band A.

It does just over 74 MPG on average, which means it will cost £8.00* in diesel every 100 miles driven.

In terms of fuel efficiency, it sits between the Volvo V60 2.4L diesel and the more thirsty Volvo S60 2.0L diesel.

The lower the insurance group, the cheaper a car should be to insure. This model is rated insurance group 20, which is lower than the BMW 1 Series 2.0L diesel, but higher than the Volvo S60 2.0L diesel.

Audi A4: How big is the boot?

The Audi A4 estate has a bigger boot than the saloon (it can hold 495 litres of luggage with the seats up).

This allows the estate to take one pushchair and 3 large bags or 4 large bags. While the saloon takes just 4 large bags.

Worth knowing, the Volvo V60 estate is the best in class, allowing for one pushchair and 3 large bags with its 564 litres.

Is the Audi A4 easy to park?

The Audi A4 is very middle of the road - it fills three quarters of a space. There are lots of wider cars, but just as many that are narrower and feel easier to park. For example, the BMW 1 Series.

When it comes to parking on the street, the A4 is one of the hardest. It has a turning circle of 11m, and a length of 4708m, giving you a relatively small 92mm gap to turn the car in and out.

If you don’t have a drive, you should look at the best in class for parallel parking instead, the BMW 1 Series.

Which Audi A4 has the best performance?

The fastest Audi A4 from 0-60, is the 3.0L diesel (if you’re a petrol head, it has 600 lbs/ft torque and 272 bhp). It hits 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.

The closest rival in its class is the BMW 3 Series 3.0L petrol, which will beat your Audi A4 to 60 by 0.1 seconds. That’s a big gap in Formula 1, but not something you would notice in your commute to work.

What size caravan or trailer, can the Audi A4 tow?

If you are towing you want good torque to pull away easily despite the extra weight, and the car needs to be at least 15% heavier than the caravan to keep you stable at speed.

The model that can tow the biggest caravan or heaviest trailer is the Audi A4 3.0L diesel which has 600 lbs/ft torque. It should be able to tow a braked caravan or trailer that weighs up to 2100kg comfortably.

You must check your car handbook – maximum towing weights vary considerably with different engine and gearbox combinations.
