What types of used Vauxhall Zafira cars are there?

When the Vauxhall Zafira launched in 1999, it took the MPV market by storm with its clever seating layout, huge interior space and excellent build quality.    

The Zafira is now in its third generation and has been upgraded each time. Vauxhall stopped selling the Zafira in 2018 after nearly 20 years on sale due to the rising popularity of SUVs and increasing numbers of van-based people carriers. 

Originally, the Zafira was based on the very successful Astra but with a larger chassis and increased interior space, which attracted families.    

Now, however, the Zafira has come into its own as a fully-fledged people carrier that can comfortably seat seven people.    

The Zafira is available with both petrol and diesel engine options and is surprisingly fun to drive for its size. It drives much like a hatchback and gets good miles per gallon on longer drives. 

Trim levels include the Design, SRi and top-spec Elite.

What features does the Vauxhall Zafira have?

The main party piece of the Vauxhall Zafira is its seating setup, which has set a trend over the past two decades.    

At first glance, the Zafira appears as a five-seater, but there are in fact two more seats tucked away at the rear. Once the middle row of seats has been slid forward, the Zafira enters ‘van mode’ and offers massive amounts of space to transport furniture and the like.    

However, once the rear seats located in the boot are unfolded, the Zafira becomes a seven-seater MPV. 

It's available in a variety of trim levels, from the entry-level Active and Design models to the range-topping SRi model.    

Standard equipment found across the range includes an infotainment system (depending on the model year), DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Isofix child seat anchor points, remote locking, folding rear seats, CD player and roof rails. Higher-spec trims get extras like sports seats and air-conditioning.
