About the Citroen C4 Cactus

The C4 Cactus represents an important turning point for the brand because it signifies the return of quirky design – something the brand lost for decades after the launch of the DS and CX models.  

Citroen’s aim with the Cactus models was to create a simple and affordable car that offered great levels of comfort, a simplistic interior, and a decent amount of space for families.   

When it launched in 2014, it went straight up against some other no-nonsense French family cars, such as the Peugeot 2008 and Renault Captur. Now, it's seen as a vehicle that offers something a little bit quirkier when compared to the Ford Focus or Vauxhall Corsa, for example. 

There is a wide range of models on offer including trims such as Touch, Feel and Flair – making your choice even easier. 

What features does the Citroen C4 Cactus have?

The exterior's quirkiness continues inside, where you will notice plenty of curves and interesting designs across the top of the dashboard.   

The C4 Cactus’s driving position is quite low, which is pleasant – especially considering the increased ride height of the vehicle.   

All models feature a seven-inch touchscreen that's connected to Citroen’s infotainment system. This includes a DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in sat-nav, a six-speaker setup, and the option to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.  

Top-spec models have options such as an uprated speaker system, 16GB jukebox, and an Arkamys amplifier to pump your tunes out of.  

The boot has a 358-litre capacity that grows to 1,170 litres once the rear seats are folded flat. 

What is the Citroen C4 Cactus like to drive?

Citroen has altered the C4 Cactus’s engine options over the years, with models from 2018 offering a couple choices. However, older variants were available with a few different options, such as a 1.6-litre diesel engine and a slightly less powerful version of the current petrol engine.  

The two on offer since 2018 include a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine with 110hp, and a 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel that produces 100hp.   

Despite the C4 Cactus being higher up than other cars in its class, it doesn’t feel like it from the driver’s seat because of the low seating position.
