What features does the Mercedes-Benz EQC have?

If you’re in the market for a Mercedes EQC then the chances are you appreciate the finer things in life. 

The exterior is simplistic and sticks with Mercedes’ design language, but move inside and it’s like you’ve stepped inside a spaceship – especially with the white leather interior option. 

Its central touchscreen infotainment system is very easy to use and works like all other Mercedes models. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto if you’d rather connect your phone that way. 

The clever feature you get is the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice-control feature that understands simple commands such as "Turn on the heating” and “Navigate me home”.  

Above all else, its standout feature is the impressive interior space that means adults can sit comfortably in the back, and you get a 500-litre boot – plenty for most people. 

Is the Mercedes-Benz EQC reliable? 

Being an electric car, the EQC should be more reliable than some other options on the market because it’s got fewer moving parts thanks to having no internal combustion engine. 

Production ended in May 2023, meaning fewer used EQCs will come with manufacturer warranties. All Mercedes models come with a standard three-year/unlimited-mileage warranty, but electric versions benefit from an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty to ensure their longevity. 

In terms of safety, the EQC ranks highly. Following its most recent Euro NCAP crash test, it scored a full five-star rating and offers exceptional adult and child occupant protection.  

This is thanks to safety features such as all-around airbags, ISOFIX child seat points, AEB for pedestrians, cyclists and urban environments, and speed assistance systems.

How much does the Mercedes-Benz EQC cost to run?

Powering the Mercedes EQC is an 80kW battery offering 255 miles of range between charges.  

Thanks to 50kWh fast-charging capabilities, you can get 80% charge in around 75 minutes, but you can also plug it in at home overnight and use a 7kWh charger if that’s the easier option. 

Being an expensive and luxurious electric SUV, you’re going to save money on fuel, but you will have to pay a premium to insure it. All models sit in insurance group 50, which is the highest there is. 

It’s worth noting, however, that the actual cost will vary depending on the driver, location etc. 

In terms of general maintenance costs, the EQC should be solid, offering great build quality and strong battery options.

Who is the Mercedes-Benz EQC suitable for?

A used Mercedes EQC is a great car for families in need of a large SUV that produces zero tailpipe emissions.  

If you appreciate comfort and can benefit from a range of up to 255 miles, then it’s worth considering this one.  

Plus, used examples are far cheaper than a brand-new EQC, which is worth upwards of £80,000.
